ASUS ROG Phone 7: Portable Gaming

The ASUS ROG Phone 7 is the new product of ASUS’s Republic of Gamers (ROG) series which is specially build for mobile gaming. The ROG Phone 7 offers all the features that gamers would want on the go with its powerful hardware, gaming-focused features, and an immersive display.

 Design and Build

The ROG Phone 7 has an audacious, sharp design that is emblematic to its gaming roots. The chassis of the phone is made of metal and glass and there RGB light on the back of the phone that can be configured according to the gamer’s preference. It is slightly larger and heavier than most phones and this is understandable due to the extra cooling and other gaming related features inside.

 Display and Audio

The phone comes with a screen size of 6. The screen size is 78 inches AMOLED type with the refresh rate of 144Hz and response time of 1ms, which makes it one of the best screens for gaming on the move. HDR10+ is supported by the display, and it has bright and accurate colors, well-balanced blacks and contrast, which is good for gaming. The ROG Phone 7. It also has front-facing stereo speakers with Dirac HD Sound, this is loud and clear sound that makes the gaming experience even better.

 Performance and Cooling

Equipped with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and up to 16GB of RAM, the ROG Phone 7 can run any game in high graphics and settings without any hitches. The vapor chamber and extra vents at the back of the phone make sure that the phone does not overheat when used for gaming for long periods. The phone also features customizable air triggers so that the gamers can map more controls for that console like feel.

 Battery Life and Charging

The ROG Phone 7 comes with a 6000mAh battery capacity, which will allow users to enjoy gaming sessions without battery drop that often requires recharging. It has fast charging, and the charger provided in the box is 65W; the battery can go back to 70% within 30 minutes. There is also bypass charging that enables the phone to be powered directly by the charger cable thus minimizing heat generation and consequently extending battery life.

 Gaming Features and Software

The ROG Phone 7 offers other features aimed at enhancing the gaming experience, such as Game Genie that enables users to tweak settings specific to games, record the gameplay and track the phone’s performance. It also comes with support for different accessories like AeroActive Cooler which offers extra cooling and additional buttons for more control while gaming. The phone also uses a skin on top of Android that is optimized for gaming performance and comes with very little pre-installed apps.

 Pros:

This is a high refresh rate display with great colors accuracy.

Superior hardware and superior cooling system

Long battery life with fast charging

Adaptive elements of games and gaming equipment

 Cons:

Hulkish design may not be very appealing to the non-gamers

Costly as compared to normal mobile phones.

 Conclusion

Although it has not been designed for the masses, and it is not cheap, the ROG Phone 7 is a great choice for gamers, as it offers the ultimate mobile gaming experience.
