Black Ops 6 just got one its most in-depth updates for the game for this month which includes new maps, quality of life changes, new guns and of course new game modes. The update went live on December 5th for all platforms of the game, ensuring that players stay locked in for this month.
Taking A Look At The New Maps
Another iconic map from Treyarch’s predecessors, Hacienda from Black Ops 4 is making a return in 6v6 competitive modes. The map had some unforgettable moments from competitive play during Black Ops 4 and it will surely be a blast to return with new weapons to try.
Racket is a new map added to the game where the placement is around an underground bank vault. With long corridors and small rooms consisting of lots of cover it is surely inviting players to go all in on close range style of play.
And of course because it’s December and Christmas is on the way, we are getting a dose of Nuketown on Christmas. The map comes embellished in Christmas decorations with socks and presents hanging out, snowmen beside the houses and red colors adorning parts of the map.
Some Limited Time Modes To Spice It Up
There are two limited time game modes to try out which are, Ran-snack and Infectious Holiday which are both coming on December 12th. In Ran-snack players will have to collect cookies from crates and other fallen players and try to bring them back to their stash for collective points and getting buffs like speed boosts. They also have to impede the opponent’s team progress by eating from their cookie box.
In Infectious Holiday, we get a dose of the iconic infected mode returning except this time fallen players will look stylish in their christmas getup as they come to murder other players to maintain the spirit of festivity.
Awesome New Weapons, Attachments And Perks
We are getting a shotgun, a sniper rifle and a melee weapon which seems to be a routine that Tryarch wants to consistently as this has been the case for previous content drops. The shotgun, aptly named Maelstrom which is a rapid firing shotgun, the AMR Mod 4 which is a sniper rifle and stylized butcher knife called the Cleaver.
All of these weapons have mini battle passes which players have to complete in order to unlock the weapons themselves along with a few extra goodies like stickers or calling cards. These mini battlepasses also have weapon mods to unlock for their respective weapons such as a 3 round burst mode for the Maelstrom shotgun and the same mod for the Kompakt 92 SMG.There are two new perks also being added into the multiplayer which are Shrapnel Radar and High Roller. Shrapnel Radar marks enemies on your mini map for some time if they get damaged by the user’s grenades or any explosives while High Roller just allows the user to equip a fourth killstreak to use.
Zombie Enjoyers Are Also In For A Treat
Those who enjoy playing zombies can also rejoice as this update is adding a brand new map called ‘Citadelle des Mortes’. It is a landmark marred by its horrific history as it was the base of operations for a french crime syndicate.
There is also a new kind of zombie on the prowl called the “doppleghasts”, who have two heads each wanting to gain control of their one body. They also have quick attacks they perform by knotting up their tentacle-like arms, they can also outrun the regular zombies due to their elongated feet.
Coming back from Black Ops 2 is the Vulture Aid perk-A-cola which is a perk that makes it so that zombies drop additional loot upon being killed such as ammo, cash or gas that charges up your Field Upgrade or make you invisible for a short period of time.
Activision And Treyarch Aren’t Letting Up
Black Ops 6 has actively shown that it is trying to bring the genre back to its glory days since the days of Black Ops 1 or Modern Warfare. The launch for Black Ops 6 has been one of the biggest successes for Activision due to their consistent content drops.
The initial season 1 drop had already introduced new weapons and modes for players to enjoy and this Season 1 reloaded features a ton of new stuff for players to sink their teeth into just in time for holiday season. Over all this is a major update that developers of other multiplayer games should take note of in how to keep players engaged.
