The EOS R5 C has a solid and compact build, designed for professional use and for that reason, it is quite durable. Its compact body is also weather-sealed, thus making it possible to use it even in different weather conditions when shooting. The camera is not too large, but not small either, which is quite suitable for this class and offers a good set of features. The features of the ergonomic design comprise of an easily hold grip and control buttons that are strategically placed for convenient use during the long shooting.

 Image Quality and Performance

The main component of the R5 C is a matrix of a CMOS sensor with a full frame and a resolution of 45 megapixels, which provides high quality and detail of the image. The camera comes with DIGIC X image processor that offer fast operation and good results in low light conditions. Another important improvement in the R5 C is the Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system with 1,053 AF points for fast and accurate focus while shooting at high speeds.

Among the novelties of the R5 C, there is a 8K video shooting at a frequency of up to 30 frames per second, which makes it possible to shoot high-quality motion pictures. The camera also has 4K recording at up to 120fps to allow for versatility in slow motion capture. Achieving 10-bit 4:2:2 internal recording and Canon Log 3, this camera offers a wide dynamic range and color depth to assist directors with better color grading in post-production.

 Viewfinder and Display

The R5 C has an electronic viewfinder (EVF) that gives a high resolution clear view of the shots you are about to capture. The 3. 2-inch Lcd screen on the back of the camera is bright, clear, with a vari-angle design that enables the shooter to position the screen in many ways. The control is through a touch screen that is sensitive and easy to use to get to other options and control the playback.

 Battery Life and Connectivity

The R5 C is equipped with the LP-E6NH battery that offers a reasonable battery life for photo shooting and video shooting. In extended shoots, extra batteries and a grip can be used in order to improve power supply. Communications are supported by two card slots, both for CFexpress and SD UHS-II, HDMI, and various inputs and outputs for audio and control. The camera also has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capability to enable transfer of files and also for controlling the camera.

 Pros:

High Dynamic Range, 8K video recording at a phenomenal level

45MP high resolution sensor for better image details.

New and improved Dual Pixel CMOS AF II
