Incredible speed and quality that can hold its own against much more costly printers, and it’s all reasonably priced!

From an aesthetic standpoint, the Ender 3 V3 KE resembles the Ender 3 V3 SE. Its 220 x 220 x 240 mm build volume is surprisingly tiny for a high-end model. When looking at the printer, it’s hard not to compare it to the earlier KE model, particularly given the higher price tag of the SE (see our review of the Creality Ender-3 V3 SE to find out what we thought of the SE).

Despite their superficial similarities, several critical distinctions between the two machines have far-reaching effects on speed and quality. The full-color graphical touchscreen is a standout feature of the KE that improves control and navigation.

In addition, the KE has Wi-Fi, so you can control and monitor it from anywhere using your computer or smartphone. It has state-of-the-art firmware built on top of the open-source Klipper project, allowing faster printing with much better quality. In addition, the KE’s maximum print speed of 500 mm/s is quite remarkable. A linear rail on the X-axis allows it to handle this higher speed while keeping vibrations to a minimum.

Nylon and other high-temperature filaments are well-suited to the KE’s hotel, which can achieve temperatures of up to 300°C. Plus, it has a PEI bed surface, which is excellent for prints because it’s both sticky and easy to remove. Although the two machines seem very similar at first glance, our knowledge of top-tier 3D printers leads us to believe that the KE is a vast improvement in speed, quality, and technology.

Design

The Creality Ender 3 V3 KE takes design cues from the tried-and-true Cartesian arrangement of bed slingers. It looks incredibly similar when placed next to the SE. The entire touchscreen interface, Wi-Fi connectivity, and an additional linear rail for system stiffness are just a few design improvements that distinguish it as the next-level machine.

However, this is an open machine, which lacks an enclosure

The two fans integrated into the print head provide enhanced cooling capabilities at speeds of up to 500 mm/s. Its new 60W ceramic heater hotend has greatly improved material compatibility. Remember that this one is still open, unlike enclosed systems, which are typically better for advanced materials.
X-axis vibrations are less likely to occur with the solid linear rail, which is present in many modern printers and makes for a smooth track.

3D printer leveling has come a long way, and the Ender 3 V3 KE makes it easy with its one-tap feature. Even at this price point, the design stands out thanks to the Wi-Fi connectivity enabled by Creality Print software. This allows direct computer print sending and progress tracking of prints. Although it is not included with the equipment, a camera can be readily attached.

The printer has many excellent capabilities, and you can always add more if you like. The AI camera is one example of an improvement that has been successful in previous versions (K1 and K1 Max, for example). The vibration compensation sensor is a simple do-it-yourself accessory that can expand the printer’s functionality.

Features

The Creality Ender 3 V3 KE is an affordable 3D printer combining high-end performance and user-friendliness. It includes features that have only recently reached printers in this price range.

A precise X-axis linear rail highlights its superior motion system, a prominent feature. This helps keep everything steady and quiet, especially when printing fast. The Ender 3 V3 KE is the fastest printer in its class, capable of printing at 500 mm/s. It can even beat the slightly cheaper Ender 3 V3 SE.

A full-color graphical touchscreen interface makes navigating its options easier and the printing process more intuitive. Its already high usability is taken to a whole new level with the inclusion of Wi-Fi, which allows for remote monitoring and control via PCs or cell phones. You can add a camera for live feed monitoring, but it doesn’t come with one by default.

The Ender 3 V3 KE’s high-capability hotend, capable of reaching temperatures as high as 300°C, is its backbone. Incorporating high-temperature materials like ABS and nylon (combined with an enclosure) into the printer’s filament options increases its material compatibility. This adaptability opens a world of printing possibilities, from complex DIY jobs to industrial printing.

Final Verdict

When it comes to budget printers, the Creality Ender 3 V3 KE is head and shoulders above the competition. Although it doesn’t have the sleek appearance of Creality’s premium machines or the Bambu Labs A1, this printer is excellent for people just starting with 3D printing and those who want to keep learning.

The printer is straightforward because its simple interface and software allow quick setup. With one of the best results in these tests, the print quality is truly astounding. While it’s excellent at making tiny negative features, the printer could be more accurate regarding dimensions. Dimensional accuracy is mediocre compared to other models, even after adjusting settings from the default and reducing the print speed.

The Creality Ender 3 V3 KE is a clear winner when looking for a beginner drone. If you can afford to spend more than around $200 or £200, you will most certainly receive a 3D printer that is both dependable and capable. Therefore, it’s probably well spent.
