The developers of Diablo 4 have revealed what they have prepared for season 8 of the game, the news was revealed on March 7th at the Campfire Chat. In short there are new Legendary Aspects and Unique Items players can grind for. Along with that is the return of Belial and new Apparition Incursion events.
The Unique Items For Each Class
Season 8 of the beloved title is expected to arrive around April 15th and when it starts the six basic classes of the game will all receive a Unique Item and a new legendary Aspect to equip. For example the Barbarian class will receive the Bane of Ahjed-Den gloves which increase the damage done by the next Might Throw move.
Druids will receive the Gathlen’s Birthright which is a helmet that increases the gain of Anima of Forest as a human. Necromancers will receive a two-handed sword called the Sanquivor, Blade of Zir which increases the damage of one’s summons and increases the damage done by Army of dead.
Finally the Spiritborn class will get the Sunbird’s Gorget Amulet, this provides bonuses when one picks up Storm Feathers. The bonuses these items provide are no doubt worthwhile thus they provide a good incentive for players to grind through the game.
The Legendary Aspects
In addition to the unique items, each class will also receive a Legendary Aspect, for the Barbarian class its the Aspect of Delayed Extinction, this multiplies the damage dealt by Mighty Throw and Steel Grasp.
Druids will receive the Aspect Of Impending Deluge, this will increase the damage done by Storm Strikes by a staggering 50% and increase the damage taken by a targeted enemy around 20% to 40% for 6 seconds.
Aspect of Service and Sacrifice for the Necromancer makes it so that skeleton warriors explode on death dealing a maximum 1430 physical damage. Additionally, skeleton mages take 90% less damage and can deal a whopping 100% increased damage.
Aspect Of Contamination for the rogue class increases the damage done by their poison traps, for a maximum of 1345 poison damage. This can do critical damage and if it does do critical damage, the rogue can then deal an increased 20% to 40% increased poison damage for 5 seconds.
Finally the last two are Shivering Aspect for Sorceress which just increases the damage dealt by 20% to 40% based on much frostbite they have and Rip And Tear Aspect for the Spiritborn class, which increase the damage dealt by Rushing claws up to 40% and also acts differently based on what level of charge it has at the moment it is cast.
Return Of Belial
Additionally players will have to face one of Diablo 3’s iconic bosses as Belial makes a return, he will be the last boss to face in a revamped boss system which features 3 tiers, Initiate, Greater and Exalted.
Belial is one of the 4 lesser Evils in the game and is the brother of Azmodan, he had followed in the footsteps of his mentor and another boss to face Mephisto. In Diablo 3 players had to face Belial in two phases with him appearing in his true form in the second phase.
Due to the rework done to the boss system, in addition to facing Belial players will now have to face other notable enemies like the Beast In The Ice, Grigoire, Lord Zir and many more. This fight promises to test the skills of even the most veteran players of Diablo 4.
Conclusion
The developers also revealed that they plan to revise the difficulty in the new season as they noticed players were reaching max levels in much shorter time periods compared to the previous seasons. The developers stated they plan to address this by making sure players face a larger number of foes while going from level 1 to 60 even with the best items.
It is nice to see the developers give their thoughts on the current state of the game and give updates and have open discussions on the changes they are making. Overall season 8 is promising to bring back Diablo 4 into the spotlight from where it may have strayed in the past seasons.
