In addition to the classic Wayfarer style that you are already familiar with, the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses now have a new Headliner design for a more retro aesthetic. Both styles are offered in Matte Black and Shiny Black. In addition, to highlight the technology within, we’re launching three new transparent frame colors: Rebel Black, Caramel, and Jeans. We made the glasses lighter and more comfortable by lowering their weight and reducing their overall profile in all directions. Additionally, the glasses now withstand water (IPX4). Now, you can broadcast live to Facebook or Instagram directly from the glasses. In order to interact with your community while you’re living in the moment, you can see the remarks in your preview or tap and hold the side of your glasses to hear them aloud.

Want to Change your Headphones?
One advantage of these glasses is that there’s no need to use the camera at all. They can also serve as a good substitute for your headphones. In contrast to the camera, the audio functions are controlled by the same apps as any other Bluetooth headset, with the exception of a built-in Spotify integration that you can turn on.
Just below the capture button on the right arm is a gesture control area where you can adjust the audio. The app has a variety of gestures, but the most common ones are sliding forward and back to adjust volume and touching once to pause or play audio. You can advance to the next track by tapping twice, and go back a track by tapping three times. You can play your automatically generated recommendations based on your preferences by tapping and holding when Spotify Tap is enabled. There’s also a little toggle on the left arm, right on the hinge, that allows you to turn off the camera’s power and Bluetooth connection.
The sound quality of podcasts and music is comparable to that of other smart eyewear. They don’t reproduce pounding bass as well as other open-ear headphones, but they outperform ambient modes in terms of assisting you in keeping situational awareness. On the other hand, noise-canceling headphones are far better at isolating outside sounds.
