Wash G1 is a wet cleaner especially developed for use on hard floors and is manufactured by Dyson. I see it as light and very easy to manouvre during the bit of time I got to work with it. Physically it is as well made and ergonomically designed as you would hope for from a Dyson brand. I found it worked great for newly occurred spillages, however, I would have liked to practice more on stains that had been allowed to dry on the material. The division of the utensil into the pan and rack to separate between solid and liquid waste is a nice touch and undoubtedly helps when cleaning and getting rid of waste.

Design
Sleek and Lightweight
If you are envisaging a big, clumsy cleaner, you need not worry. This device is compact and very light and that adds to its functionality as it can easily be moved within your house. It is quite compact and unobtrusive with very nice looks that go well with most contemporary house interiors.
Cleaner Head
The cleaner head is somewhat of the size of an A4 paper but can be slightly thicker. Below, there are two rollers made of extra density micro fiber for wet messes as they are very absorbent and provide good traction. These rollers are highly flexible, so nearly reach the outer perimeter of the cleaner head, and this creates an avenue to clean up to the wall sections.
Secondary Rollers
Besides the microfiber rollers, there are also the second set of rollers consisting of the large nylon brushes resembling those used in the vacuum cleaners. These rollers cope with debris and hair, thus, this unit does a very thorough job. Within the cleaner head there is a mesh which collects the solid waste and guides it into a sort of dish placed in the upper part of the head.
Water Tanks
Attached to the handle are two containers one for working water and the other for contaminated water. Each tank perfectly fits one liter of water taking the coverage of the floor space of approximately 290 square meters. They can easily be clipped on and off and each tank has got its own screw-top seal to avoid any spillage.
Charge Stand
The charge stand is almost non-existent, slightly bigger than the cleaner head itself and is extremely light. But surprisingly, it is compact and functions well, always ensuring the availability of the WashG1.
Performance
Tackling Spills and Stains
I was also able to experiment with the WashG1 on a tiled floor in the Dyson’s headquarters- Malmesbury. It could handle wet spillages with relative ease and the traces of the wet substance were wiped out by the cloth the first time it was passed over it. It also scooped up oats without any complain but would sometimes need to pass over the oats twice to collect all of them.
Handling Dried-On Stains
During the live, a Dyson engineer was able to clean a dried-on stain which had been on the surface for about 3 hours with the WashG1. It was several times to rub off the marks though they did not utilize the max mode suitable for stubborn stains.
Edge Cleaning
The rollers go up to the edges of the cleaner head which enable one to clean up to the edges of rooms. This is particularly useful as there are no attachments for precision cleaning as is seen with vacuum cleaner.
Noise Levels
As far as noise is concerned, it is slightly quieter than an average vacuum cleaner and will not disturb anyone. This makes it a more pleasurable use for the particular responsible and any other person that may be within the house.
Hydration Modes
Multiple Settings
This machine has three options for the degree of hydration plus the no-water option and the Max option. These settings enable you to control the amount of water used depending with the floored type and the degree of soiling.
User-Friendly Controls
The handle has a button to choose what you would like and this is highlighted on a screen that has water droplet graphics. The Max mode can be activated along the same button by holding it down and also ensure that you have the right portion of water for the hardest stains.
Self-Clean Mode
There is also this self-clean mode that only takes two minutes in cleaning the oven. This mode pumps water through the mechanism and over the rollers and there is a brush bar for removing any solid debris. It then goes through a no water run to expels all water from the item and parts inside the machine.
Ease of Use
Lightweight and Comfortable
It is evident that the WashG1 is less bulky, comfortable to use. It prevents tiring the user since they do not have to apply a lot of force to move the device from one point to the other especially when getting over furniture or other obstacles.
Pivoting Cleaner Head
This cleaner head swivels 360 degrees giving you the maneuverability you need to go under chair legs, other obstacles, and even under furniture. This flexibility will allow for cleaning of all the corners of homes without any difficulties.
Screen Graphics
There are illustrations of how to operate the WashG1 seen on the handle of this product. Though, some of these graphics can be confusing at times, the actual device . is quite easy to use and navigate.
Waste Disposal
Separation of Wet and Dry Waste
This particular model of the WashG1 has a simple and innovative design: wet and dry waste are collected separately. This makes the disposal to be an easy affair and at the same time not quite messy. Dry waste should be disposed off in the bin, while dirty water should be poured down the sink.
Efficient Disposal Process
The separation of wet and dry waste does not have the same problems of mess as seen when wet and dry waste are combined. Such an approach to the arrangement of rooms makes cleaning and maintenance easier and more sanitary.
Maintenance
Self-Clean Mode
In process of the self-clean mode and the clean water is supplied through the mechanism and over the rollers for wiping off the remaining solid debris. This mode is intended to be used daily after each operation of the different kitchen appliances.
Deep Cleaning
This cleaner head is also designed with rollers that can be pulled out for deep cleaning of car interior and furniture. The water tanks are also made in such a way that they can easily be washed without attaining any angle that could harbor dirt. They are moderate in size, and therefore movements in and out of the rooms are not a challenge which makes cleaning easier.
Roller Replacement
Rollers are not permanent and they shall also reach their depletion point at some point in time. Dyson says they should be replaced after every 6 months of use, depending with the frequency of use. This way, the WashG1 retains its best performance level to provide favorable results for its clients.
Comparisons
Innovation in Wet Cleaning
Unlike most wet cleaners that employ suction as the remove of filth from surfaces, Dyson’s WashG1 employs hydration and vexation alongside confinement. For this reason, this strategy eliminates problems that are complained about frequently such as choked up mechanics and bad smells, and this puts WashG1 a step ahead of its competitors.
Dyson’s Track Record
In general, the Dyson’s operational fields include home cleaning, and the WashG1 model does not deviate from this line. It would be easy to conclude that the type of product is distinctive and amid competition in the current marketplace it stands out due to some of the special characteristics that the designers bestowed on this product.
User Experience
Hands-On Testing
In my practical experience washing with WashG1, I noted that the product worked and was easy to wash with. This recipe dealt with different kinds of spills and stains profoundly and was capable of dealing with numerous types.
Real-World Scenarios
Indeed, WashG1 stood up to the challenge in real-life situations, in freshly formed spills as well as set-in stains. Because it could clean almost the edges and circumvent barriers it proved to be a functional and easy to use gadget.
Overall Impressions
All in all, I was satisfied with the WashG1. This makes it a rather functional product, adding to the fact that it is well designed, packed with features, and performs exceptionally for a home with hard floors.
Innovative Features
Triple-Pronged Cleaning
The WashG1 uses a triple-pronged approach to cleaning: Those include hydration or offering drinks with ice cubes, creating agitation by playing the patients’ favorite songs or letting them listen to nature sounds, and separation by letting the patients spend time alone or play with toys. This method eliminates the problems that come with suction based wet cleaners, as it offers sound cleaning as can be seen below.
High-Density Microfiber Rollers
Actually the high density microfiber rollers is also made in such a way that they are very absorbent and have good friction, thus ensuring that wet spills are cleaned very well. This way their extensions can go almost to the very edge of the cleaner head which in turn improves their performance.
User-Friendly Design
As for the controls on the WashG1, operation has been made very easy to implement right from the handle by the compact structure. CUSTOMERS also notice that the product is not heavy and easily portable, or, in other words, easy to clean.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Lightweight and easy to maneuver: Therefore, it is easily portable and can be easily moved from one point to another, this since its design is as depicted in the WashG1 above.
- Tackles wet and dry spillages: What makes it effective is the fact it is a tool that can address a number of spill types making it a versatile tool.
- Easy to clean the machine: They are easy to maintain in part due to a special self-clean setting as well as the fact that numerous components are designed to be easily removed.
- Straightforward disposal of waste: The segregation of waste as wet and dry is less involve in dirt and hence easier when it comes to the disposal.
Cons
- Only for hard floors, not carpets: it was most effective, however it should not be used on carpets or other forms of soft surfaces on the floor.
- Machine drips a little sometimes: At odd times, there was seen a few drops of water dripping where the shower was not in use and this was rare.
- Floors left a bit wet: Some water may still be on the floor depending on the nature of cleaning that may have been from a spillage and the use of wet mop.
Conclusion
In any case, I was rather content with the WashG1. It is indeed, a good start that Dyson decided to design a dedicated wet cleaner since it is their first product in that cleaning category. It is well and rather creatively designed and its primary function of effectively cleaning hard floors is satisfactorily accomplished. However, I will write a more detailed post of the product if I get to use it at home for a relatively long duration.
