Fortnite Epic’s battle royale from 2017, has managed to stay relevant for the past 7 years through its consistent updates to keep things fresh and exciting for old and new players and they’ve managed to show their expertise again with the new update for Season 3, Chapter 5: Wrecked
So, get ready to rumble! The new update will throw you into a vibrant desert with thrilling new features and weapon changes. Also, to make everything more exciting they have revamped the vehicle system.
A Brand-New Battlefield: The Wasteland
Once Fortnite world had luscious island with a lot of greenery but recently it went under a drastic transformation. A furious sandstorm has taken over the island and created a new sandy biome known as the Wasteland.
The desert Wasteland is dotted with a rocky mess and remnants of a great civilization known as the Wasteland Warriors. They are famous for riding in with the sandstorms. The leader of the Wasteland Warrior is known as Megalo Don who resides at the Brutal Beachhead. The Brutal Beachhead is also the base for operations for the warriors.
Apart from these the map also has new features such as:
- Condo Canyon: An old hotel standing on its last legs as it lost luxury, offering players with a lot of verticality for combat encounters.
- The Colossal Coliseum: As the name no doubt it’s a gladiator pit, designed for close quarter combat.
- Greasy Grove: The fan favorite Greasy grove’s burger joint has been partially buried in the sand, the dispensaries now offering explosive consumables for the brave players landing there.
- Shifty Shafts: The mines are now partially unearthed with new caves to discover and find rare loot.
Rev Your Engines: Vehicles Get a Makeover
The iconic vehicles of Fortnite have made its grand return in Chapter 5 Season 3. However, this time you will be packing some serious heat. The new update will introduce some popular modding system for your whip. The ultimate fan favorite like Cow Catcher and Chonkers-off the road will make its return. These features will increase your ramming power so you can cause the ultimate chaos.
Available vehicle mods are:
- Machine Gun Turret (roof slot): Have a passenger fire a machine gun while someone else drives!
- Grenade Launcher Turret (roof slot): Some would call this littering, but the Grenades will get rid of themselves by exploding.
- Spiked Bumper (front bumper slot): Deal more damage to players and objects on impact.
- Cow Catcher (front bumper slot): Boost your ramming power and give your car some defensive armor.
- Bulletproof Tires (tires slot): Tired of tire poppers? Make your tires indestructible!
- Chonkers Off-Road Tires (tires slot): Make your car more off-road friendly. Especially useful if you’re not driving an SUV!
You can also mod your SUVs now in Fortnite. There will be certain parts that will be compatible with both sports’ car and SUVs. You can also select car bodies from the Rocket League game. There is a Behemoth bundle in the shop which focuses on the Wastelander Set.

Once you are dropped off from the Battle Bus you will instantly start controlling a War Bus. You can hijack one of the War buses and be on your way to destruction.
“Each War Bus comes rigged with two cannons on top and a horn that produces an EMP pulse. (EMP does damage to nearby enemy Shields, and temporarily disables surrounding vehicles.) These monster mobiles hold multiple EMP pulses that each recharge after a short time!”
Also don’t forget to use the Boom Bolt that will literally cause traffic by explosion. Boom Bolt is a moddable crossbow that can shoot explosive bolts. Of course, to repair your car from any damage you can use the Repair Box and Repair Torch. You can also go to Service Stations to replace gas pumps and refill your car gas.

Many old weapons are becoming the highlight of this new season. According to the patch notes the old weapons are:

New Skins
New skins have been added from various factions such as The Machinist, Chrome Crusaders, and Rust Lords 2.0 from the Wasteland Warrior factions, T-60 armor skins from the Fallout games, A new magneto skin with the powers to manipulate metals.
A Season Full of Mayhem
