BMW’s development of the i5 Touring is no longer under wraps. While the manufacturer has released images of the electric station wagon, crucial details such as price and specifications remain undisclosed. Despite this, a Dutch BMW dealer has already made this information available online. However, BMW Netherlands has yet to confirm the accuracy of these details to Autovisie, considering them as strong indicators for now.
The BMW i5 Touring is listed at €79,999 on the Dutch dealer’s website, a price in line with the sedan, which starts at €77,575, specifically for the M Sport Edition variant, equipped with sporty details.
As for specifications, the entry-level eDrive40 Touring boasts 340 horsepower and a range of 548 kilometers with its 81.2 kWh battery pack, accelerating from 0 to 100 kilometers in 6.1 seconds.
The M60 xDrive Touring, the second version, shares the same battery pack but adds an extra electric motor on the front axle, resulting in a total power of 601 hp. This version accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.4 seconds, achieving a top speed of 230 kilometers per hour with a range of 498 kilometers.
Both versions can be charged at a fast charger with 205 kW or at a public charging station with 22 kW.
In terms of dimensions, the i5 Touring shares the sedan’s wheelbase of just under 3 meters but is 27 millimeters higher. The length is 5.06 meters. The cargo space is noteworthy, with 570 liters in the trunk, expanding to 1,700 liters with the second row of seats folded down, a significant improvement over the 5-Series Touring hybrid, which had 430 liters of luggage space.
Anticipated to reach BMW dealers in mid-2024, the i5 Touring’s final photos are yet to be revealed.
