As the title clearly suggests, players will soon be able to play as the mechanical giants from the Gundam anime. It went live on the first of June and there will be two other skins to follow at the cost of $20 each.

As stated above all of them feature loading screens, calling cards, unique finishing moves and finally three weapons blueprints, which are for the MTZ-556, KVO Enforcer and a skin for the Riot shield.There are special sound effects and blue firing effects when using these weapons akin to how it’s shown in GUNDAM.
Now as with all skins, there are A LOT more buyers than there are people criticizing the franchise for monetary gain, hence we keep seeing various kinds of collaborations with different entities. Which more often than not are cultural or trending people,shows etc. Previously, Warzone featured TMNT, Nicki Minaj, 21 Savage and Snoop Dogg together, Homelander from The Boys series and many more.
Another argument that occasionally comes up is “do these skins affect gameplay, as in give an advantage?”. Now studies have shown that using a skin that a player enjoys or likes does actually affect his/her way of playing the game which this article won’t get into.
A recent article stated that warzone is likely to feature Fallout outfits in a new update, no doubt a move to capitalize on the Fallout TV show’s surrounding hype and positive reviews. Which is what the general idea seems to be for each new set of skins given on Warzone and Modern warfare 3.
Are People Enjoying This?
It’s difficult to tell unless there is an uproar in response to any skin whether players like it or not, along with the consistent critics reminding players of the dangers of constantly buying packs of character skins and such.
The bottom line being Activision will continue to feature character skins, weapon blueprints etc featuring some culturally significant show, personality, TV show character etc because it rakes in a sizeable profit for them and the relevant parties being featured also get a respectable chunk of the profits earned (name and likeness and all that).
A Conclusion and a Warning
Skins like these will continue to be featured in the future, who knows how many times we’ll Captain Price dressed up in different and sort of ridiculous attires,which some players have raised an issue on as the game had strayed far from realism and dressing up a serious character such as Captain Price in these kinds of clothing is just embarrassing.
This along with the criticisms of Modern Warfare remake campaigns becoming more and more subpar compared to the originals, its safe to say that some of frustrations are being critical of whatever new packs or bundles featured as those players view that the failings in the story of Modern Warfare should be addressed first.
However most players now will shift their eyes to the new Call of Duty coming out on June 9th, which will feature a host of new weapons,areas and since its Treyarch the developers behind the Black Ops series, it will be expected of them to put out a compelling and eyebrow raising story along filled with conspiracy and dread as they did with the previous Black Ops titles.
