Motorola Edge Plus (2024)

News

The Lenovo-owned Motorola brand is currently seeing a comeback after years of mediocrity. Reviews of the Razr Plus and the Motorola Edge Plus (2023) have been overwhelmingly good, both from users and here at Android Authority. This is particularly good news for Americans, as there aren’t many interesting alternatives available to us save Apple, Samsung, Google, and OnePlus. Even if the next Motorola Edge won’t be here for a while, I’m interested to see what Lenovo has in store for us in 2019. Here is my wishlist for the Motorola Edge Plus (2024) based on that.

Design And Display:

Always-on screens have always been my preference, and they’re really popular right now. It’s common on many of the greatest Android phones, and it’s now available on the iPhone as well (but only on the Pro range).

To be fair, the Edge Plus (2023) offers Edge Lights, a unique twist on this. This feature, which isn’t a genuine always-on display, illuminates the display’s curving edges in various colors in response to incoming alerts. That’s useful, but not nearly as useful as having access to the date, time, and other important notification symbols. There are additional problems with the curved display as well, which brings us to our next recommendation.

It’s important to remember that the Edge Plus (2022) had a flat display, even if it might seem strange to forgo the curved display in favor of a phone bearing the label “Edge.” Additionally, I would contend that Motorola’s superior specs may enable the brand to be known for innovation in the future rather than merely for the type of display it has.

Software:

Motorola has not always provided the finest software support; but, with the release of the Edge Plus (2023), things started to change. It is noteworthy that it now provides four years of security coverage and three years of Android support. We will have to wait and see how well Motorola adheres to its software policy, though, as the company hasn’t always been good at keeping its word.

Camera:

In recent times, Motorola hasn’t exactly been known for having the best cameras. The Edge Plus (2023) has made some progress in this area, which is good news. In most cases, the camera package produced aesthetically pleasant, natural colors and details. Even said, on bright, sunny days, it did display strong green saturation, and its zoom performance could have been better. Its electronic video stabilization is also a little bit inadequate.

Motorola has to put more effort into improving its photography experience if it wants to successfully compete with other high-end flagships. This covers both the software and hardware aspects.

When will the Motorola Edge Plus (2024) be released?:

It is expected that the Motorola Edge Plus (2024) will not be released for at least nine months, if not longer. That’s a long time to wait, particularly if you’re eager to upgrade your phone as soon as possible because it’s getting old. If you’re in the market for a new phone and are pleased with the direction the company is taking, the Motorola Edge Plus (2023) ($699 at Amazon) is a good option that still has a lot of life left in it.

Conclusion:

Following its somewhat uneven introduction in 2020, the Motorola Edge has seen multiple iterations. With the release of the Edge Plus (2023), one of the best Motorola phones in years, the series was finally thrust into the public eye. It would be foolish for Motorola to hold off on making a formal announcement about their plans for a next-generation Edge Plus. We would boldly predict that a Motorola Edge Plus (2024) is unavoidable, barring a significant rebranding effort.

Because Motorola has been erratic in its launch timetables for previous models, it is more difficult to estimate when the Motorola Edge Plus (2024) will be released. All we can predict with any degree of accuracy at this time is that the Motorola Edge Plus (2024) will probably be released in the spring or summer of that year. Its past trends indicate that this could occur any time between May and September.
