New electric Porsche makes mincemeat of Tesla Model S Plaid

The Tesla Model S Plaid stands as an exceptional electric family car, yet it appears that Elon Musk’s high-speed EV is now facing a formidable challenger in the form of a swifter variant of the Porsche Taycan. A pre-production model of the Porsche electric car is leaving the Tesla in its dust.

Renowned for its extraordinary performance, the Tesla Model S Plaid has proven its prowess by outperforming even the most expensive supercars, as demonstrated in the Autovisie Supertest. While the Rimac Nevera and other hypercars have posed challenges, a new contender emerges in the form of the Lucid Air Sapphire, an even more powerful variant than the Dream Edition.

Elon Musk’s creation, however, is more than just a drag racer. With the optional Track Pack, the Plaid exhibits remarkable capabilities, boasting strong brakes, a stable chassis, and customizable drive and regeneration forces. Driver Peter Kox, during the Autovisie Supertest, concluded that the Plaid with Track Pack delivers not only exceptional straight-line performance but also genuine driving pleasure.

The Nürburgring, a challenging 21-kilometer circuit where car manufacturers push their vehicles to the limit, witnessed the Tesla Model S Plaid setting a record lap time of 7 minutes and 25 seconds. However, this record has now been shattered by a pre-production version of the new Porsche Taycan, clocking in at an impressive 7 minutes and 7 seconds — nearly 18 seconds faster than Musk’s Plaid.

Porsche, brimming with enthusiasm, has already shared this record-breaking lap time, emphasizing a remarkable improvement of 26 seconds compared to their current top model, the Porsche Taycan Turbo S. This achievement brings the Taycan very close to the 7 minutes and 5 seconds recorded by the almost 2,000 hp Rimac Nevera. Further details about the updated Porsche Taycan are expected to be unveiled in March, leaving enthusiasts eager to learn more about this lightning-fast EV.

In conclusion, the new electric Porsche has proven to be a formidable contender in the electric vehicle market. Its exceptional performance and design not only matches but surpasses that of the Tesla Model S Plaid. The car’s innovative features coupled with its powerful engine, outshine most competitors, making it an alluring choice for car enthusiasts. This breakthrough sets a higher benchmark for other manufacturers in the EV industry. We eagerly anticipate witnessing further advancements and innovations in this electrifying competition among top automobile manufacturers – may the best electric vehicle win!
