Palworld’s Feybreak Update: A Monster Hunter-Sized Expansion

News

Even through a lawsuit with Nintendo, PocketPair have been consistent with their updates to Palworld and have recently released a new DLC called Feybreak. This is a collaboration between Palworld and Terraria. The DLC is available now on all platforms and this collaboration is set to continue in 2025 with more cross over content that is set to be released.

What The DLC Brings

For starters this DLC will feature the Meowmere, a legendary sword from Terraria, which means we may also get the project firing part of this sword. Along with this legendary weapon we are getting a new island called Feybreak, which is where we can expect to find all the new Pals that we can capture or fight.

There are new factions to defeat in the new island, a bunch of Bounty NPCs are available and bringing them to justice will reward the player with cash as a reward. Players will also get to challenge new strongholds and a new stronghold boss which is funnily called “The Attack Chopper”.

Players will also get to face a new raid boss called the “Xenolord” , a mechanical dragon who has been responsible for controlling the Xeno army. New materials are being added to the game which are Chromite and Hexolite, Chromite is available underground in the base game but Hexolite is exclusive to the Feybreak island.

There Are New Mechanics

Along with Pals, strongholds and such, there are new mechanics being added for players to understand and utilize such as the Expeditions mechanic. We are now able to send out our Pals on missions where they will gather some targeted resources by themselves and bring them back to base.

Players can also conduct research at the Pal Labor Research Laboratory, by doing these they will have started to unlock permanent passive upgrades that help in increasing the overall productivity of their base. These passive upgrades can be unlocked for existing buildings which can increase the work speed of the Pals for example.

There are also a bunch of quality of life improvements being added to the game such as players being invisible for a few seconds after entering or exiting dungeons, players can now climb faster as the speed of climbing has been increased and finally there has been an increase in the rate of gain of xp.

A Whole Bunch Of Guns, Weapons And Buildings

There are a staggering 18 new weapons being added to the game including makeshift SMGs, Assault Rifles and Shotguns, Revolvers, different types of Bows and a multitude of grenades. There is also a katana being added to the game, for those who wanna go full melee.

There are also new buildings being added to the game, each having a useful and unique feature. For example, an Accumulator is being added which stores electricity during the day so that it can be used at night to keep facilities in our base constantly running. Large Scale Ovens and Egg Incubators are being that which will no doubt help in cooking a large amount of food and items quickly.

There are also buildings that help in growing skill fruits, Medicine racks for emergency scenarios for when our Pals get injured. One building that is especially useful is the Item Retrieval Machine which makes it easy to look through all our chests and take what we need without needing to remember which specific chest the item is in.

The Lawsuit Isn’t Stopping Anything

Although PocketPair is fighting a lawsuit against Nintendo, they are making it clear that the game and its players are a first priority. The game has been receiving a steady stream of updates ever since its launch and they don’t plan to stop anytime soon.

With Feybreak being a collaboration between Palworld and Terraria, we will as mentioned before get a lot of new content in 2025. This also means that Palworld is likely to bring out more collaboration DLCs in the future with other games.

Overall we have to hope that PocketPairs succeeds in defeating the pointless lawsuit that Nintendo is bringing in for them and continue to release creative and interesting collaboration DLCs like these to keep the game going for their fans.
