Although chargers’ physical dimensions have continued to decrease due to the use of gallium nitride (GaN), the Nomad 65W Slim Power Adaptor pushes this trend to unprecedented heights. Almost the ideal travel charger is this small charger.

Elegant and lightweight, the Nomad 65W Slim Power Adapter. A fraction of a pound, this charger is portable. Its tiny size fits in any backpack or pocket, guaranteeing you never go without power.

Power and versatility

The Nomad 65W Slim Power Adapter is compact but powerful. It charges laptops and other devices at 65 watts. Its adaptability enables it charge phones, iPads, and other gadgets on the fly. The adapter’s smart charging speeds up charging safely. The Nomad adaptor works well in coffee shops, airline lounges, and hotels.

Excellent Construction

Quality matters in portable charging, and the Nomad 65W Slim Power Adapter delivers. Its durable polymers and components make it suitable for travel and regular use. You can trust this strong construction to charge your electronics when you need them.

Comfort and compatibility

The Nomad adapter works with many laptops and devices, however its narrow shape may not fit some outlets. Regular wall outlets work, but power strips and recessed outlets may not. Newer devices have USB-C connectors, therefore the converter can be used with hubs or extensions.

Price Considerations

The Nomad 65W Slim Power Adapter costs more than similar chargers. Consider portability, versatility, and build quality. For frequent travelers or mobile professionals, the Nomad adapter’s simplicity and reliability may justify the expense.

Zippo-sized charger

I opened the Nomad 65W Slim Power Adaptor’s box and thought, “Wow.” I’ve used smaller GaN chargers for years, but none have been better for travel. Due to its modest size and weight, I can squeeze it in my tiniest tech bag and forget it’s in my purse. I traveled with Nomad’s 130W Power Adapter until my review equipment arrived. The charger is bulky, but its three USB-C ports and power output were plenty to charge all my devices. While 0.73 pounds (332 grams) may seem insignificant, it adds up quickly when packed with other equipment.

The reduced size allows me to utilize a smaller electronics pouch. I use a Peak Design Tech Pouch. Now that my laptop and iPhone charge over USB-C, I need fewer wires, even if it doesn’t take up much space. Due to shortened Nomad power adapters, the Moment Tech Organizer Mini fits everything. I found that the charger’s flat design made it easy to plug into other outlets while traveling. Some motels lack outlets, and enormous bricks are hard to hide behind the bed. If there isn’t enough space, the USB-C ports’ flip-out prongs can be angled upward or downward, preventing wire bending and damage.

What Happens When You Plug Two Devices?

This Nomad charger can output 65W, as its name says. Once you hook a single USB-C cable into either port and connect it to a large device like a MacBook, all 65W of power will go to it. If you used both USB-C ports simultaneously, neither would output 65W. Nomad splits output into 45W and 20W. On the bottom of the charger, the left port is blue and the right is black. The manufacturer color codes ports to assist you recognize which gives more power: 45W for the blue port. The secondary port should usually be vacant while charging heavier things. 65W is typical for slow laptop charging.

Nomad also sells a 35W charger if you don’t require 65W, two USB-C connections, or this charger is too huge. It’s a little lighter and shorter, but its single USB-C port sets it apart. Although the 35W model is $30 cheaper, I recommend buying the 65W. The second USB-C port will help charge all your devices, and 35W won’t power certain larger devices. If you only bring a smartphone and earbuds, Nomad’s smaller variant is excellent.

Would You Buy the Nomad 65W Slim Power Adapter?

I highly recommend the 65W Slim Power Adapter to anyone who needs a portable charger, even though Nomad does not advocate it. Simple shape fits in locations where larger blocks won’t and is great for any bag size. This charger is easy to suggest. The Slim Power Adapter’s expanded design is its biggest “flaw”. The charger works well in most outlets, however some power strips can handle extra plugs. A coworker had it while testing, but I didn’t. Nomad’s Slim Power Adaptor can be used at home, however it’s not cost-effective. Since house chargers are permanent and can fast charge practically anything hooked into them, I recommend a 200W–300W power supply from Satechi or Ugreen.
