The Master Series’ flagship QD-OLED model, Sony’s Bravia XR A95L, dominates premium TV sales. The 65-inch A95L, which costs $3,499, provides great picture quality, cutting-edge features, and sound. Our review covers design, performance, audio, gaming, smart features, and more to determine whether the A95L is worth its high price.

Style

The A95L has a sleek shape that measures 56.9 x 32.8 x 1.4 inches and has a contemporary OLED-based design. Due to its 51.6-pound weight, the TV requires help during setup. The elegant appearance is enhanced by the thin black metal bezel, and customers may choose to utilize the provided stand or wall mount the device. The stand is a flexible complement to any home entertainment room since it allows for numerous layouts and adjustable installation locations.

Ports

USB connections, Ethernet ports, coaxial cable connectors, IR and RS-232C plugs, HDMI 2.1 ports (third and fourth supporting eARC), and more are on the left side of the TV. The A95L’s two HDMI 2.1 ports may not be as useful as its competitors’, but they do enable Auto Low-Latency Mode (ALLM), Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and 4K at 120Hz.

Achievement

Sony’s Cognitive Processor XR-powered QD-OLED display on the A95L makes watching a variety of entertainment luxurious. The TV does a fantastic job depicting black-on-black situations, shadowy figures against bright backgrounds, and colorful animated sequences. However, according to Delta-E’s findings from lab testing, the A95L’s color accuracy lags slightly below those of rivals like LG and Samsung. with spite of this, the TV displays its potential with HDR programming with an exceptional coverage of the Rec. 709 and UHDA-P3 color gamuts.

The brightness varies a lot; HDR material is around 11% less bright than competitors, while SDR brightness significantly decreases, particularly in Professional mode. While some may not agree with Sony’s deliberate design decision to imitate the qualities of a high-end professional panel, other viewing modes provide brighter alternatives at the cost of certain color accuracy compromises.

Sound

With the A95L, Sony carries on its legacy of providing excellent audio. The TV turns the screen into a speaker using Acoustic Surface Audio+ technology, providing superb clarity across a range of audio frequencies. Even while the A95L’s audio quality may not be as loud as that of some of its rivals, it still sounds excellent and supports Dolby Atmos for a rich, immersive audio experience. External speakers may be used by users to improve their audio arrangement even further, although the built-in technology is rather good already.

Astute Elements

Google TV, which offers a feature-rich and user-friendly smart TV interface, is still a standout. Google TV has one of the best interfaces out now, combining Google Search with customized suggestions. The A95L has voice control with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and Apple HomeKit in addition to an ATSC 3.0 tuner for 4K broadcasts that can be watched over-the-air, Chromecast, and Apple AirPlay.

Sony includes exclusive features like Bravia Core, a paid streaming service that provides high-bitrate copies of content that has been licensed for film and television. By adding gesture controls and evaluating the viewing environment for real-time modifications, the Bravia Cam provides another layer of capability. Although some people may think these features amusing but insignificant, they do indicate where TV technology is headed.

Distant

A premium remote control with a brushed-metal top panel and full illumination is included with the A95L. User comfort is increased by the inclusion of shortcut buttons for Crunchyroll and YouTube, and simple navigation is ensured by the well-organized interface. Users may eventually get used to the many menu buttons, even if some people may first find them a little bewildering.

QD-OLED Display Superiority

Quantum dots and OLED are harmoniously combined in the A95L’s QD-OLED display technology to provide an amazing visual experience. A display that captivates consumers across a range of content is ensured by the combination of excellent blacks and contrast from OLED and brilliant colors from quantum dots.

Conclusion

The Sony Bravia XR A95L stands out with its stunning picture, immersive audio, and advanced smart interface. Despite its absence of HDMI 2.1 connectors, color accuracy concerns, and higher gaming input latency, the A95L’s feature set and performance make it a strong premium OLED TV contender. If you want great audio and video in your home theater, choose the Sony A95L.
