The router complies with the modern standard Wi-Fi 7 and operates with such features as 320MHz channel bandwidth, 4K QAM, direct-to-client beamforming, MU-MIMO data transfer, MLO, OFDMA. The GE800 is also an EasyMesh device which enables it to act as the main router for your network or a satellite node within an EasyMesh network of TP-Link products.

There are two ways of controlling the GE800, through a web interface or a mobile application TP-Link Tether. Gaming screen of the application shows the status of the router and internet data rate with an added feature of showing CPU and memory usage, MAC and IP address and firmware version. On the Game Center panel one can turn on Game Boost for optimizing connections of gaming clients and Game Server Acceleration for minimizing latency.
