Following its successful release in India in August 2023, Vivo has now introduced the Vivo V29e globally. Despite sharing the same name, the global version of the Vivo V29e has distinct design and specification variations compared to the Indian version.
The differences are notably evident in aspects like the display size, phone back design, and battery capacity. The global edition features a slightly smaller 6.67-inch screen compared to the 6.78-inch screen of its Indian counterpart. Additionally, while the Indian model has a curved screen edge, the global version sports a flat-edged display. Regardless of these differences, both models are equipped with an AMOLED display panel accompanied by a mini cut-out for the front camera.
The back design of the Vivo V29e has also been revised. The global model flaunts a glossy back with a square module, contrasting the dual-tone design with a less prominent camera module in the Indian version. Furthermore, the global version packs a 4,800 mAh battery, whereas the Indian model boasts a 5,000 mAh battery.
Specifications of the Global Vivo V29e:
The Vivo V29e’s global variant comes with a 6.67-inch AMOLED display, offering Full HD Plus resolution and brightness levels reaching up to 1,150 nits. The display also supports a 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and displays over a billion colors. It’s powered by the Snapdragon 695 System on Chip (SoC), consistent with the Indian model. The chip is paired with an 8 GB RAM base variant and 256 GB of internal storage. Unlike its Indian counterpart, which supports microSD expansion, the global model lacks a microSD slot.
For photography, the phone is equipped with a dual rear camera setup comprising a 64 MP main sensor (f/1.79) with OIS and an 8 MP ultrawide camera (f/2.2). The circular-shaped LED flash, dubbed the Smart Aura Light, complements these cameras. A 50 MP front camera (f/2.0) accommodates selfie enthusiasts and video calls.
The phone comes with a 4,800 mAh battery, with support for 44-watt fast charging via USB-C. It operates on Android 13, with Vivo’s FuntouchOS 13 interface. Other features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, 5G connectivity, IP54 water and dust resistance, dual nano-SIM support, Bluetooth 5.1, and WiFi. The Vivo V29e global version is available in three color options: black, blue, and gold.
As per reports from GSMArena, the phone has been listed on Vivo’s Thailand website with a 12/256 GB variant, though the price is yet to be confirmed. Meanwhile, the 8/256 GB variant is available on Vivo’s Bangladesh site for 36,999 Bangladeshi taka, approximately equivalent to $320.
Upcoming Release:
Indications suggest that the Vivo V29e will soon be launched in other regions. The global version is expected to be the model introduced in other regions, aligning with teasers from Vivo’s official site and social media. The official launch date and price for the other region’s market remain under wraps, and we await further announcements.
