On Monday (24/10/2023), Vivo officially introduced its latest mid-range smartphone, the Vivo Y55T, to the Chinese market. From a design and feature perspective, the Vivo Y55T can be considered a “twin” of the previously launched Vivo Y35 Plus from last May.
This comparison comes as the Vivo Y55T boasts two prominent vertically-arranged rear cameras, each encircled with a gold accent, mirroring the Vivo Y35 Plus design. One of the phone’s cameras is a primary shooter with a 50 MP resolution. The functionality and resolution of the second camera haven’t been specified.
On the front, there’s an 8 MP selfie camera situated within a conventional waterdrop-style notch. As for the display, similar to the Vivo Y35 Plus, the Vivo Y55T comes with a 6.64-inch IPS LCD screen featuring Full HD Plus resolution, a 60 Hz refresh rate, a 240 Hz touch sampling rate, and a brightness level of 550 nits.
Under the hood, the Vivo Y55T is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 6020 chipset, paired with 8 GB of RAM. It offers two storage options: 128 GB and 256 GB. For those requiring additional storage, there’s the option to expand using a microSD card up to 1 TB. Other notable features include a 3.5 mm audio jack, an integrated fingerprint scanner within the power button, and a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 15-watt fast charging. The latest Vivo smartphone runs on Android 13, overlaid with the OriginOS 3 user interface, as compiled by Gizmochina on Tuesday (24/10/2023).
Regarding pricing, the Vivo Y55T is available in China at a starting price of 999 yuan (approximately $155) for the 8 GB/128 GB variant and 1,199 yuan (around $185) for the 8 GB/256 GB model.
