The tech world is buzzing with excitement over rumors that Xiaomi will soon unveil its latest flagship models, the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro. Although there’s no official word yet, insider sources suggest the big reveal could happen on October 27, 2023. This speculation has been spreading thanks to China’s IT Home, and numerous Weibo bloggers have echoed this potential launch date. Additionally, some employees from Xiaomi’s retail outlets are also believed to have confirmed these details.
Both models of the Xiaomi 14 series are speculated to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This chipset was recently introduced by Qualcomm at the “Snapdragon Summit” held in Hawaii, USA on October 25, 2023. If the predictions prove accurate, Xiaomi will be the world’s first smartphone brand to utilize the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip.
Leaked Specifications of the Xiaomi 14 Pro:
The Xiaomi 14 Pro is expected to feature a large screen with slim bezels on all four sides. Renowned gadget leaker, Ice Universe, suggests that such slim bezels will enhance scrolling and viewing experiences. The display is also expected to have a curved screen design, a characteristic feature of premium smartphones. The Xiaomi 14 Pro will reportedly adopt a punch-hole design for its front camera located at the center-top of the display.
Design-wise, the Xiaomi 14 Pro seems to be following the blueprint of its predecessor, the Xiaomi 13. Leaked 3D renders show a squarish camera module protruding slightly from the back.
Xiaomi 14 Camera Collaboration with Leica:
The camera specs for the Xiaomi 14 are particularly intriguing. It’s rumored that Xiaomi has collaborated with the renowned German camera manufacturer, Leica. The device is expected to feature three diverse lenses, with the main camera boasting a 50 MP resolution (f/1.28). This primary camera sensor is anticipated to be larger than the one found in the Xiaomi 13. Additionally, the Xiaomi 14 is expected to include a telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom capability and an ultrawide camera.
According to reports from GizmoChina, the design of the Xiaomi 14 Pro seems to have resemblances with the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. This is attributed to the phone’s adoption of a titanium frame and satellite connectivity features. It is also anticipated to have a battery capacity of 4,860 mAh, supporting 90-watt fast charging and 50-watt wireless charging. Running on Android 14, the interface will be layered with Xiaomi’s MiUI 15.
Both phones have reportedly been listed in China’s TENAA documents, bearing model numbers 23127PN0CC for the Xiaomi 14 and 23116PN5BC for the Xiaomi 14 Pro.
While the above specifications remain in the realm of speculation and might change before the official launch, the appearance of the Xiaomi 14 series on TENAA suggests that the devices could be unveiled sooner than later. Tech enthusiasts worldwide eagerly await further announcements.
