Earfun Tune Pro and Uboom L Review

Introduction

Today, it can be tough to buy headphones that are high quality, very comfortable and affordable at the same time. Introducing the EarFun Tune Pro which has brought a revolution to budget headphones. The Tune Pro stands out because of its long battery life, hybrid ANC and dual-driver setup and makes it possible to enjoy great-sounding music without spending much.

Earfun has send me the Earfun Tune Pro and UBOOM L in exchange for two reviews. My review is my own opinion, and is uploaded without any comments or hindrance. The way I like it ;).

This review is only about the Earfun Tune Pro!

Design & Comfort

The Tune Pro model includes soft and comfy pleather ear cups, plus a headband with padding for longer, comfortable sessions. They weigh only 10.2 ounces which makes them very lightweight but still solid for regular use.

Sound Quality

Since it has two drivers—a 10mm LCP and a 40mm PET—the Tune Pro well-balanced sound. The bass isn’t as strong as the mids and highs which bass fans might not like. Even so, the audio experience is pleasing, especially at the cost, for regular listening.

Battery Life

Standout Tune Pro features are its impressive 120-hour battery life when ANC is not used and its still-long 80-hour power with ANC turned on. Because of this extended performance, the phone can last for hours and even for days or even weeks, between charges. Fast charging is possible on these phones, so just 15 minutes can provide over 10 hours of listening time.

Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)

The active noise cancellation in the Tune Pro reduces noise around you by up to 45dB. Unlike pricier ANC models, this noise cancelling performs well and makes the sound cleaner in most situations.

Connectivity & Controls

The headphones use Bluetooth 5.4 to maintain strong and efficient Bluetooth connectivity. The headphones have multipoint technology which makes it possible to plugin to both your PC and your phone at the same time. You can easily change the music, the volume or the ANC settings using the buttons on the ear cups.

Microphone & Call Quality

With AI and 5 microphones, your voice gets picked up and delivered clearly to anyone you’re speaking to during a call. The Tune Pro works well for calls, chatting online and chatting with virtual assistants because it effectively cuts off background sounds.

App Integration & Customization

Using the EarFun companion app, individuals can change the EQ to get the sound they like best. The application also offers controls for ANC modes and supports updating the firmware which boosts the user experience.

The EQ’s do their best, but it’s still not high/premium audio quality. But looking at a Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3 costs €384, you might expect some higher quality. This is nearly 80 euro’s (except with the discount code below, it’s even €60,-).

Portability & Build Quality

The Tune Pro is made to be easily foldable, so it’s portable and can be carried around. The headphones feel truly durable in everyday use, even though they are light.

Value Proposition

Getting it for €60 is a great deal for the impressive benefits you receive from EarFun Tune Pro. The combination of a long battery, hybrid noise cancelling, dual drivers and integration with the app appeals to consumers who want good headphones for a moderate price.

However, the one thing I do miss with this whole package is an pouch or case to store the headphone in. It feels like whilst traveling the plastic can get scratches on it, quite easily even… A pouch/case would prevent this.

Final Verdict

The fact that the EarFun Tune Pro gives most premium features for less proves that you don’t need to spend a lot. Although it lacks high-fidelity wireless audio quality, it does not come with an pouch to store the headphone in, it has strong points in areas favored by regular users: battery life, how comfortable it fits and reliable noise cancellation. People who want a good set of headphones with lots of features at a fair price should check out the Tune Pro.

For the features and price, it get’s 4 out of 5 stars (especially with the discount).
