A Chinese brand with lot’s of great features … and an very interesting portfolio. I am hoping that I am able to show you, the reader, more of these Chinese brands! Audio-Technica ATH-M50x
Although the ATH-M50x can take a lot of punishment and has a well balanced sound, it doesn’t have the wow factor of wooden drivers like those on the SIVGA SV021. The performances of the SV021 are also evidenced by comfort in long term operation. I’ve been using the M50 few years ago, and I was not that impressed of the plasticy feel of the Audio-Technica, where I have more of a wow factor with the SIVGA one.
Sony MDR-7506
In terms of the sound quality the MDR-7506 outperforms SV021 but, in terms of build and comfort SV021 is superior. This makes the SV021 one over the other since the cups are made of wood while the headband has cushions.
Tips for Optimal Usage
- Use High-Quality Audio Sources: Connect the headphones with other high quality sound formats such as FLAC for full sound. I mean, using MP3 after a FLAC would let you know the difference between those files.
- Store Safely: in the included soft pouch, incorporate something to shield your headphones from scratches. My old B&O headphone looks so damaged after a week in my backpack, when I go to work. So make sure the SV021 (or any headphone) is stored away in a pouch/case.
- Clean Regularly: soft cleaned the earpads and headband to maintain clean and attractive look.

For any listener – amateur or professional – these headphones promise an incredibly different listening experience when compared to regular headphones in terms of both sound quality and looks. Buying the SV021, one means investing in style, quality, and functionality all rolled into an incredible bundle. Compared to the Audio-Technica or Sony’s I’d rather buy this one.
Like stated in the intro, I cannot wait to receive more of these Chinese headphones. Because they really know how to build something good like the SIVGA Robin. Is it the best headphone I’ve ever listened to? No, absolutely not.. But those were factor 10 more pricy. And come one.. with a headphone of almost 180 euro’s, can you really expect a lot? I didn’t and even then the SIVGA Robin overdelivered with a good soundstage. A bit flat on the treble but more punch in the lower ranges. And for someone who listens to house, techno, dance and even harder sounds.. this one is pretty good for my liking.
I like the fact that they also add a 3.5 to 6.35 adapter, and that the cable is detachable. However… the cable feels lightweight and not really heavy duty. Which does not really let me walk around the house and do chores.
The SIVGA Robin SV021 gets 4 out of 5 stars, and it deserves it.
